A racking cane is normally a very long rod that attaches to a siphon. This set up is used to extract wine from a carboy without letting it come in contact with oxygen. These two devices are very useful for transferring wine from one vessel to another (racking).  The “auto-siphon” consists of a racking cane within an outer tube that can be pumped to start the siphoning process.
