To try to cheer myself up after the filtering debaucle, I broke out a bottle of my first wine – it’s one month old today!  There is a little weird soapiness on the nose, and the wine is actually quite fizzy, too. I decanted for a while and tasted in Spiegelau cabernet glass. Some fruit on the nose, flavors of oak and plums; slightly sour. Overall, not bad, considering how young it is.
